Welcome to lbaphoto.com:
My personal Image gallery and a place to learn about photography
I made this Website for the following purposes:
Sharing my personal favorite images with friends, family and anyone else who may be interested in seeing my photographs
Anyone who knows me, knows my personal dislike of Social Media and the ‘trash bin’ style posting available on such platforms. My aim with this website is to make a well organized, categorized easy to navigate and accessible format where you can quickly and easily find what you a looking for.

I am mainly self taught. I learn from watching video classes / tutorials bought online & YouTube videos.
First of all I highly recommend anyone interested in learning Photography to reach out and see if there is a local community, maybe a club for photographers. This is a great way to learn from others that share the passion about this hobby. But to some that may not be an option, and this is where E-Learning comes in as a great way to explore this wonderful hobby.
My secondary purpose of making this website, is to share my own learning path. Courses I have followed that I can recommend and how to get them at a discount. I will also be linking to some of my favorite YouTubers out there that I think makes great unbiased content that you can also learn a lot from.
Sharing my personal experience with the gear I have used and am currently using.
If you watch any of the courses I recommend or talk to an experienced photographer, you will hear them say the same thing: “You don’t need an expensive camera / lens to take good photographs”. And I believe this is absolutely true.
We all know that this can very swiftly become an incredibly costly hobby to get into. The bottom line here is that you can get a very decent second hand ‘starter’ camera, or use a mobile phone to learn all the basics. But there is a reason why some of us end up spending thousands of $ on more expensive gear.
Lets be honest and say for instance you want to photograph stunning pictures of predatory birds in flight, well a simple camera with no subject tracking and a 50mm kit lens just isn’t likely to get the job done…
Therefore I will dedicate a section of this site to share my personal experience with the gear I have used and what gear I am currently using, as well as linking to some of the most credible YouTube reviewers who’s advise on gear has helped me make the decisions to buy the gear I have used. The main focus will be on keeping the cost to a minimum to meet your requirements for the tasks you want to achieve.
Editing – If you want to make the most out of Photos – love it or hate it – you’ve got to learn some digital editing.
I think we can all agree that being out there taking the shots is the best and most fun part of photography. But at the end of the day, if you want to turn those photographs into the best result, you will need to do some amount of editing. Just how much will greatly vary and is part of the creative process. The better you get at nailing the shoots, the less editing you will need to do in post processing.
Again in this category I will share the links to the online courses I have followed and can recommend, as well as links to YouTube guides on editing.
There is also a wide variety of software out there ranging form completely free to use to the more expensive paid plans like Lightroom and PhotoShop as well as ‘Stand-Alone’ permanent licensed specialized software / plugins like DxO Raw and Topaz Photo AI.
As with the Gear Section I will try to break this down in Pros and Cons. What you opt in for is of course entirely your choice, my goal here is to guide you to the best price for the buck for your personal needs.
